WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
Thanks for arranging our recent trip to Scotland to play golf – I liked that everything was easy and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Carnoustie was my favorite course and it was in great shape and tough. The Old Course was a close second, but I would play both again. Your drivers Jim and Sarah were awesome. Knowing that the rides were taken care of, and they helped us check in and everything, it was perfect. Jim even dropped off the non-golfers on our way to Carnoustie, I don’t think transport could have been any better. You Trip Information Summary was fantastic, I kept revering to my emails for times and dates, easy to read and helped out. Morton Golf Holidays’ service was world class. It was not easy coordinating this trip with so many different people on my end, but you guys made it simple and easy.
Kevin Rau, California, USA – May 2019
The trip was excellent and a big success. The hotel was great, Jim and Sarah our drivers were great and the weather was even good.
The tee times were ideal as were the caddies. Many thanks for your help and a big hello to Donald.
Best wishes and all the best for the rest of the Season.
Cameron Taylor, Golf Pro at Golf Schule, Romerhof, Germany – May 2019
I’ve finally made my way home after a fantastic week in Ireland. Everything was absolutely exceptional: the golf courses, the bus, Canice, the hotels etc etc. I cannot thank you enough – it was a great trip.
Keep well and we’ll be in touch a little closer to the next one…
Regards, Kevin Homann, South Africa – May 2019
Thank you for a well-organized tour.
Morton offers you a perfect Golf Holiday in St Andrews!! Reliable and Dependable!!! We liked playing the Old Course and Kingsbarns was very scenic.
Your drivers Jim and Sarah were very helpful, the Trip Information was excellent as was the Morton Golf Holidays service overall.
Connie Mamaril, Managing Director, Regent Travel, Philippines – May 2019
From the recent ADTA Golf Trip to St Andrews I can tell you that I have had raving comments. And, I believe from every one of the 20 players. It was more than they ever imagined. You were very professional, organized and the play was a dream. I don’t think you could have gotten any better reviews. From my standpoint as the organizer, it went very well to work through the process. Can’t thank you enough Peter.
Peggy L. Schultz, Executive Director, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, New Port Richey, Florida, USA – April/May 2019
And from one of the players:
I enjoyed most the golf and fellowship during the trip. The Old Course and Carnoustie; golf as golf is meant to be played. Fun, fun, fun. The Old Course Hotel was an excellent choice as it was convenient with good service. Your drivers provided a first class service; they were friendly, fun, and always on time and where they said they would be! Morton Golf Holidays’ service was excellent. I hope to come back to Scotland in the next two to three years.
Jeff Kinsel, USA – April / May 2019
Back from another links golf adventure the whole group had a extraordinary time in SW Scotland.
We were able to play on very fine courses and at the birthplace of The Open in Prestwick.
Again, also this year we were very lucky with the weather. It could not be any better.
Our drivers did everything to make a golfers life easier. Great thanks to Dominic and Gordon. They were just perfect!
The lodges at Turnberry are the best accommodation for groups! You just feel at home!
The aperitifs in the evening in the sun in front of the Turnberry Hotel with Gin & Tonic and the Scottish bag piper, were just awesome.
Peter, I want to thank you and your team for the organisation of that trip.
The 16 golfers from Switzerland returned full of great experiences and memories of this great country and its golf courses.
We had a great time!

Beginning in the Fall of 2018, I started planning a Golf Holiday trip to Northern Ireland for me and my wife and another couple. After much consultation with friends and golf professionals, a frequent golfing companion suggested Morton Golf Holidays, specifically, Peter and Fiona Craigon. They are based in Scotland so I was not sure how this would work for a trip in Ireland but it worked marvelously. Our trip commenced on March 9 and concluded on March 17, 2019. My golfing companion had just retired as a Urologist and my wife and I were celebrating our 70 birthdays, so this was somewhat of a Seminal Event. One might inquire as to our sanity going to play golf in early March but that was the timing for my Spring Break as I am a University Professor. The weather did in fact propose challenges during most of the rounds but we persevered. We played Royal County Down, Royal Port Stewart, Donegal, County Sligo and Enniscrone which was our favorite course of those we played. I had been to Ireland once before having played many popular and highly ranked golf courses in Southern Ireland but Enniscrone still remains as possibly the best links course I have played. I would defer to my playing partner for his opinion but he claims it is high on the list. County Sligo was also excellent as two retired executives and members of the Club were our caddies and they made it very special joining us for a Guinness and a Carlsberg after the round.
Regarding the logistics of transportation and accommodations, they could not have been better. We were fortunate to stay in very upscale hotels in Newcastle, Bushmills, Sligo and Clifden (Abbey Glenn Castle). Kerry Executive Travel, JP Brick is the owner and driver and he made our trip special in many respects. His car is an upscale Mercedes SUV perfect for our needs given the number of bags and golf clubs needed to transport. JP went beyond the call of duty personalizing the event buy suggesting and acquiring theater tickets and taking the ladies to very special attractions that would never be on one’s radar screen.
I highly recommend anyone considering a trip to Scotland or Ireland to use Morton Golf Holidays and Kerry Executive Travel (Ireland) as both are highly professional and take care of their clients.

We completed the second of 2 trips to Scotland this year using Morton Golf as the agent. Both trips went off perfectly. Trip 1 was to St Andrews with my wife and 2 friends in late August. The Second trip was to the Highlands with 7 other guys in early October. Couldn’t have had nicer times..the Ladies trip was highlighted by having the opportunity to play the Old Course..to say we had fun is an understatement. Peter Craigon the owner of Morton Golf met us at the first tee to make sure all went off without a hitch. Great show. Also..Morton handled our car hire as we self drove. It couldn’t have been handled any easier. We were out of the airport in twenty minutes. Other course we played were Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, New and Castle (highly recommended) all went off without a hitch. The weather in August was great.
The men’s trip to the Highlands was fantastic. Eugene McDade was our driver for the second year in a row. He was great..and perfect for this group. I’ve had many drivers in the past and he is one of the best. We played Dornoch, Castle Stuart, Nairn and Fortrose..all the golf was outstanding..weather was great too which helps. The trip went off perfectly with no issues. We also played the Boat of Garten golf club on the way up to Inverness on day 1. Great track..and fun . Again these trips were 4th and 5th with Morton..and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for somebody to plan and guide them through the Home of Golf..looking forward to going again next year.

Our group of 4 couples from South Africa had a great golf tour to Scotland in the summer. We had been with Morton Golf Holidays on a number of trips in the last 10 years but this was the first time you had arranged for us to have our own dedicated driver and that was definitely a highlight. We enjoyed the golf courses we played and we appreciated you being able to include 5 Open Championship courses on this trip. Thanks also for arranging additional golf when we were actually in Scotland – this demonstrated very well how flexible you guys are in looking after your clients. We will hope to return to Scotland for another golf tour in the future and will be happy to use your services once more.
Willie Miller, South Africa
USA Dear Peter
Playing iconic golf courses with life-long friends and family must be one of the great life experiences for any golfer no matter their skill level. Cheering everyone’s great shots and laughing after the truly horrible shots was part of the fun. We laughed a lot! The day tour with private guide Fergus Cook in southwest Scotland was also a high light. Learning more of the local history, culture and current political and social issues really made the trip much richer. The Old Course remains my favorite course because of the history and setting. Personally, I’ll never forget my drive on the Road Hole followed by my approach shot to the green, A great par on one of the hardest holes. Turnberry and Kinsgbarns were the most beautiful courses with views rivaling Pebble Beach and perhaps more interesting to play. This trip was the first time I played Prestwick another historic iconic course. Number 17 still as Old Tom Morris designed it was a real challenge and thrill to play. Carnoustie, for me was the most difficult course. It’s long and recent history still makes it a must and fun play. We teed off in pouring rain to add to the challenge. True to Scottish weather the rain stopped by the end of the third hole and the sun (an a wee bit of wind, two to three clubs worth) appeared for the balance of the round. Donald was of great help when Terry and Bills luggage and clubs were held up in Dublin for two days. He kept up the pressure on the airlines and tracked it until it finally arrived while keeping us informed of its progress. Your Trip Summary was right on point and kept us organized. I have already recommended Morton Golf Holidays to several friends and will continue to do so!
J. Gill, USA – September 2018
In planning our golf trip to Scotland, I feel very fortunate to have found Morton Golf Holidays through a client of mine. Thanks again for taking the time to speak with me on several occasions leading up to the trip. Once we were there, we didn’t have to think about a thing which is exactly what we hoped for. We all agreed that Carnoustie was the best experience and the day we played there we had sunny weather, but the winds blew and they had the Sunday pins from The Open. It was the truest links golf experience and the history was amazing. Kingsbarns and Gleneagles were much more resort style feeling, but a great experience as well. The Castle Course was a great surprise. Aside from some very tricky greens, the views were spectacular and I’d liken it to Pebble Beach in Scotland. Morton Golf Holidays service was top class and I have already referred anyone I’ve spoken with that is considering a trip to Scotland.
Brett Young, Canada – August 2018
We had a wonderful time at the three Gleneagles courses, the Jubilee and Old Courses at St Andrews and at Carnoustie which was the week after The Open with the parched fairways proving a real test of golf and patience.
We were extremely lucky to have played St Andrews Old Course on our final day thanks to Morton’s entering us in the ballot – what a thrill that was !
Your attention to detail for our short tour and accommodation was amazing – punctual pickups, comfortable transport, confirmed tee times all made for a delightful experience.
I can thoroughly recommend Morton Golf Holidays to any prospective client where your unrivalled knowledge of all things Golf in Scotland will guarantee complete satisfaction.
With thanks, Tony Mountstephens, Sydney, Australia – August 2018
Morton Golf covered all the important details on our trip and were a pleasure to work with. They are from the area so their knowledge of Ireland was very important in guiding us Americans around the country. It was an enjoyable experience.
Executive Director, Carolinas Golf Association
Peter, I wanted to thank you for organizing our trip. Especially the weather. We all had a wonderful time, the accommodations were great, the Royal Scots Hotel and Invernairne were outstanding, and the Albany was nice and conveniently located in St Andrews. The staff at each place could not have been nicer. Our drivers Jim and his wife Sarah went out of their way to help us in any way they could. They were friendly and after a few hours we felt that we had known them forever. I would recommend the entire package to anyone. In fact I am going to talk to someone next week who has expressed an interest in putting a group together. I will certainly give them your contact information, and tell them what a great time we had. Again thanks from all of us. Hope to be coming back soon.
Cyrus Sloan, USA – August 2018
Apologies for late reply as we only now returned from our road-trip through Scotland. What a beautiful country…
The guys had a fabulous time. They absolutely loved the golf courses and the accommodation and food was wonderful. Thank you.
A special thanks to their driver Gordon as he went above and beyond to accommodate this very busy group of men.
The guys also enjoyed the caddies and had some good laughs. Thank you for the beautiful coffee table book, all the arrangements and making their “bucket list” a reality.
What a privilege. Best wishes,
Izane and Jaco de Wet, South Africa August 2018
We had a great time every day around East Lothian and all golf course which we played was great. For most of our group Dunbar and Gullane were the favourite courses. Craigielaw Lodge with the ocean view rooms were enjoyed by everyone. Adam was a very good and kindly driver and he picked us up at the exact arranged time each day. Morton Golf Holidays service was great. We hope to come back to Scotland in 2 or 3 years.
Bruno Mueller, Switzerland – August 2018
We are always delighted when a client asks us to come up with an itinerary “ off the beaten track” and Chris Oldham certainly challenged us with just that this year. You will see from his wonderful words below it was well worth it and it is so nice for us to hear how much an American golfer appreciated some of our iconic and historical old courses. Nowhere in the world has links golf courses like Machrihanish, The Machrie and Askernish. Add the likes of Shiskine, Dunaverty and Fortrose and we truly have a place in the world of golf which is quite unique!! Makes us kind of proud to be Scots!!!
Peter Craigon, MD, Morton Golf Holidays
There’s little doubt in my mind that Morton Golf Holidays is the best golf holidays/adventure planner in Scotland. There are not sufficient superlatives to describe how professional, thorough and fun they are to work with in planning a perfect golf vacation to Scotland.
I had worked with Morton Golf Holidays to plan three previous trips to Scotland – the first a luxury trip to the great bucket list courses of Scotland. The second was a budget oriented trip with some friends that covered some great courses (St. Andrews Old/New Course, Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart and Kingsbarns) and some lesser known gems (Crail and Fortrose & Rosemarkie). The third was a solo grand golfing adventure which covered 38 courses and 50+ rounds on every type of course imaginable – a truly spectacular golfing trip.
It was on this third trip that I was having lunch with Peter Craigon and Donald McLeod at Royal Montrose Golf Club where I asked them where they would travel in Scotland if they wanted to plan their dream trip. Without hesitation, they each said the Western Isles. After I returned home, I began digging around to see why they believed it would be a dream trip and it did not take long to figure out why. The golf was remote, the Isles were stunning and the travel was adventuresome. I reached out to Peter and Donald and asked them to put together an itinerary they would want to have for themselves and soon I received back from them the plans for a 16-day golfing adventure that I may never surpass.
After arriving in Glasgow and being met by Donald. I headed to Ardrossan to catch my first ferry of the trip to the Isle of Arran. I was booked at Brodick Golf Club to ease me into my trip and then on to 3 rounds at Shiskine Golf Club, a 12 hole jewel that cannot be missed. From Arran, I ferried over to the Kintyre Peninsula to some of the best golf courses I’ve had the pleasure to play. I started at Dunaverty Golf Club, a fun track and scenic walk (where I aced the 4th hole). From there I was booked into The Ugadale Hotel (best Haggis nachos anywhere!) overlooking the first tee of Machrihanish Golf Club Machrihanish where I played 3 rounds is a spectacular course that claims to have the best opening tee shot in the world (they’re not lying!) along with 17 equally good holes that follow. Adjacent to Machrihanish Golf Club is Machrihanish Dunes where I played 3 rounds in the haar, the rain and the brilliant sunshine. Mach Dunes is in many ways the equal to Machrihanish and no trip to the Kintyre Peninsula would be complete without playing both.
After leaving Machrihanish, I ferried over to Islay where I played 2 rounds on the spectacular Machrie Golf Links – a wickedly fun and challenging golf course that will only get better when they open the adjacent hotel. From Islay came the most adventurous part of my trip – a ferry ride back to mainland followed by a 3 hour drive to Mallaig where I took a 4 hour ferry ride to Lochboisdale on the Isle of South Uist to play 2 rounds at the holy grail of Hebridean golf courses, Askernish Golf Club.
I would encourage any hard-core golf aficionado to read about Askernish Golf Club and then not dream of playing it. Askernish is simply brilliant. There’s really not a way to score on this course and once I figured that out, it became one of the most fun rounds I played on this trip, or maybe even in my life. I truly think that it is golf in its rawest form and should be enjoyed as such. The fairways were shaggy, rabbit holes were everywhere, and the greens were undulating and wild, but for a multitude of reasons I simply felt more joy on the course than any other course that I played. If you are looking for a manicured, heavily catered experience where you will shoot a great score, this is definitely not the course for you, but if you want a fantastic golf experience, steeped in the pure joy of simply striking a golf ball, there could be no better place to play.
After my round at Askernish, it was back to the ferry to Mallaig and then on the road to Inverness. I was booked for a round at Royal Dornoch (one of my all time favorites) and then on to my beloved Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club to play in their Senior Stableford Open. This ended the playing portion of my trip and Peter and Donald hit a home-run with each of the choices they made. They booked a perfect golfing experience for me. From the excellent accommodations, to the detailed ferry planning and train schedules to ensure that I arrived at every destination on time, Morton Golf could not have provided a better experience.
The last portion of my trip was two days at The 147th Open Championship at Carnoustie – tickets obtained by Morton Golf for an effortless experience. I was fortunate to spend one of these days with Donald and it was a joy to talk with him about the trip, the Open and golf in general. Both he and Peter love golf and it comes through in every talk you have with them.
At the end of the day, a successful trip is about the care and the detail that goes into the planning of the trip. Morton Golf Holidays does that in spades – from the earliest discussions to the detailed itinerary they provide prior to arrival, it is clear that they are professionals and exceptionally good at what they do. But with both Peter and Donald, it is evident that the business is more than that – it is truly a passion with both of them. They know and love golf and travel. They strive to know their clients and at every turn use that knowledge to do everything to make each trip the experience of a lifetime.
The highest recommendation anyone can give a business is their repeat business. I’ve used Morton Golf Holidays now to plan four trips for me and my friends. I will use them again – and I will recommend them to anyone who asks. When I call on them next, I will once again challenge them to provide me with the golf experience of a lifetime and they will again deliver beyond my wildest expectations. Once you book a golf adventure with Morton Golf Holidays, you will feel the same.
Chris Oldham – July 2018
Peter, Donald and Team,
The recent Golf experience through Scotland that all of you at Morton Golf provided us was fantastic!
The entire process from arrival to departure was flawless. One in our group has travelled outside the US over 300 times and he has rarely found a team that was as punctual, full of personality and willing to take care of every need and request as the Morton team. The accommodations, the course selection, the dining recommendations, the hospitality and sense of humor of the transportation team, the “can do” attitude, all spot on!
The beauty of Turnberry and KingsBarns, the history of the Old Course and Royal Troon, Carnoustie just ahead of the Open Championship. What an experience!
Thank you all!

Jeff Benson – USA – June 2018
We have fallen in love with the Scottish people and the country of Scotland, with its picturesque countryside and the wonderful traditions that have lasted for centuries and are still in existence today. The golf was our main reason for coming to Scotland and we had the expectation of the weather being at times brutal. Oh my, experiencing Scotland during the recent heat wave made the trip even more enjoyable for us. Your service level and the arrangements of the golf, transportation and accommodations was absolutely fantastic. We want to thank you for making our trip very special. The golf courses were what we had had hoped they would be. The transportation arrangements were always right on time and the vehicles were comfortable, clean and the drivers amiable and knowledgeable. The accommodations were outstanding. We especially enjoyed the ambiance and history of the Rufflets Hotel at St Andrews. Overall, our experience with Morton Golf Holidays exceeded our expectations and was well organized with perfection. We will recommend the services of Morton Golf Holidays to anyone we know who is traveling abroad for a holiday.
Amy and Dennis Alaburda, Arizona, USA – June 2018
Peter and all of the folks at Morton Golf were so very helpful in assisting us with our golf holiday. We tried to play a lot of golf in various parts of Scotland and they did a tremendous job of arranging the days and times so that we never felt rushed. Not a single person in our group had a complaint and we give much credit to Morton for working so diligently to be sure our trip was everything that we were seeking. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you again in the (hopfuly near) future! – Sean McCarty from Tennessee – June 2018
Dear Peter, Fiona and Donald:
Thank you for organizing an excellent Golf vacation for us.
The Scottish people are the nicest people we’ve met.
The Whisky is great too.
The weather was fantastic (thanks Fiona)!.
We enjoyed the courses especially Kingsbarns and St. Andrews, of course.
We are crossing this off our “bucket List”.
Looking forward to watching the Open on TV and bragging to the boys about how we got Par and Birdie on all the holes!
Best to you guys.
Ken Ariathurai – USA – June 2018
I would like to thank you and your team for organizing an excellent 9 day tour for my Family. You took all the hassle out of finding and booking hotels, restaurants and most importantly golf courses and the whole holiday ran very smoothly. The Crail, Castle and Jubilee courses in and around St. Andrews and the Ailsa and KRTB courses at Turnberry were wonderful (and as a 24 handicapper…very playable) and playing conditions were perfect…..my Scottish mother always said late May/early June is the best time to visit. Both the Rufflets outside St. Andrews and Turnberry hotels were first class and the buffet breakfasts were sumptuous. In particular, I would highly recommend booking an ocean view room at Turnberry. For anyone looking for a quality golfing holiday experience without any hassle then the Morton Golf Holiday team is the “go to “ organization and I will be looking to tap into your expertise in 2019.
John Leigh, Hong Kong – June 2018
Peter and Donald
We really enjoyed our recent trip to Scotland? Our group enjoyed the people, the accents, the Old Course, the beer and the fish & chips! The Russell Hotel in St. Andrews was terrific. I loved the fact that we got to know Michael and the others who worked at the hotel. They were incredibly hospitable to us. That personal touch added so much to our stay in St. Andrews. The service from your drivers was very good and they were always punctual. Your walking tour guide Fergus was wonderful, both in his knowledge and personality. He was flexible in making the tour work for our group. 10 out of 10 for him! The Trip Information Summary your provided was helpful and I printed it out before the trip and used it throughout. Overall the service from Morton Golf Holidays was terrific. You and Donald were always responsive with emails. I especially liked that Donald visited us on our arrival in St. Andrews and was there on the first tee of the Old Course. Those were great personal touches. I will definitely refer Morton Golf Holidays to friends and anyone I know interested in a trip to Scotland. You guys are first class all the way.
Mark Pflaum, USA – May 2018
I can highly recommend Morton Golf Holidays to arrange your next Golf trip. From the very first email to enquire re Morton Golf Holidays, right up to the very end Morton Golf Holidays were extremely helpful, informative and professional in all aspects. Their arrangements made our trip memorable as every little detail was taken care off. Well done to Peter and his team and Thank You!!!
Mauritz Alberts and Rest of the party, South Africa.- May 2018
From Jurgens and myself, since the first day I mailed you all was just perfectly communicated and extremely well organised. We just had to worry about our golf.
The service and transport that was provided by Morton Golf Holidays was perfect. The different drivers were on time, helpful and friendly every time. The hotel was just what you need, size of rooms was good and the location is perfect. Thank you for a perfect golf week in Scotland!
Andre Serfontein, South Africa – May 2018
Just wanted to pass on my thanks and also on behalf of the whole group. The Castle Course without wind and perfect blue skies finished off a dream week for everyone.
From our side, the service provided by Morton Golf Holidays was spot on, thanks for sorting the buggy for Kurt, he really appreciated that and managed to play all 5 days in the end with buggies. All your drivers were on time, helpful and friendly and it worked a dream. The hotel was just what we needed, size of rooms was good and everyone thought the location and hotel were ideal. Keep in touch and hopefully we will do a similar trip in a couple of years.
Russell Warner, Fellow PGA Professional, Golfclub Heidental, Switzerland – May 2108
From the outset, my focus was on golfing on some of the famous courses of Scotland with three of my likeminded mates, so the goal was, to firstly get a Tee time at St Andrews Old Course, and whatever courses we played after that would be a bonus!
Morton Golf Holidays not only fulfilled the primary objective, but ticked all the other boxes, in terms of traditional courses and more! The Castle Course just outside St Andrews was the ‘more’, this challenging, immaculately presented Links course with it’s all around stunning views, proved to be the ‘cherry on the top’ for us! Accommodation was the least of my concerns, however now in retrospect, contributed to this overall incredible experience presented by Morton Golf Holidays! From the time we were collected at Edinburgh Airport to the day we departed, we were treated like celebrities, without a single hiccup, an unbelievable experience! Thank you Morton Golf Holidays, for fulfilling ‘The Dream’, with your delightful team, attention to detail and understanding of the discerning golfer!
Bruce Reid, South Africa – April 2018
On our recent golf trip, we liked the opportunity to golf world class courses and going to the Grand National. Kingsbarns was the consensus favourite due to the fantastic views and the great golf holes. The accommodation was great and a special note for the bed and breakfast in Southport. Fantastic. The transport drivers were fantastic. Very accommodating and friendly. The Trip information summary was great and we were very happy with the service from Morton golf and I have already given your name to my Optometrist. We definitely want to come back to Scotland!
Chris Dupont, Canada – April 2018
Our group of eight had more than a marvellous experience: all pre-tour arrangements went smoothly, Nethan Guest House with Bryan has been excellent, Jim and his van often went the extra mile with us and he is such a great person, the courses have all been of the highest quality and I would as I’ve already demonstrated recommend Morton as tour operator. Thank you once again for making a memorable tour possible.
René du Plessis, Bloemfontein, South Africa – April 2018
The Dr. Denison Huskies’ trip to Scotland was a major success, you have an excellent team. All 32 kids and the 5 chaperones had a great time. Everything exceeded expectations, guides were incredible, hotels and meals all very good, Brian your driver did a great job and the weather even cooperated. This tour is something that I will definitely continue to promote and look forward to working with you and the Morton Golf Holidays team in the future.
Mike McCalmont, STS Tours, Ontario, Canada – April 2018
I want to thank Peter,Fiona and Donald for coordinating and helping us on two Scotland trips this last month. We did a trip to Ayrshire (Troon,Turnberry,Prestwick)with my wife and two friends and a trip to Aberdeenshire(Cruden Bay,Royal Aberdeen) and the Highlands(Royal Dornoch,Castle Stuart,Nairn) with twelve golfers. To say both trips were fantastic is an understatement. This is the second year I have used Peter and company for golf travel arrangements in Scotland. All I can say is well done. Donald was particularly helpful at the airport, especially with the ladies group, and Fiona’s dining recommendations were superb. Both trips were quite a success. Special thanks to Ian and Lorraine of Cruden Bay B&B for putting up with us for two nights. They were great.
On the men’s trip we had Eugene McDade as our driver and he was something else. What a guy..fun to be around, knowledgeable and I consider him a friend. We had lots of driving to do and he handled it professionally. I couldn’t think of a better fit for our group of guys.
So all being said I think if anyone is planning a trip to Scotland, golf or otherwise, I would highly recommend Morton and crew. They are obviously well connected and very good at what they do. I can’t wait for the next trip in 2018. Thanks again for making it so easy for us.
Jack Iles, USA – October 2017
Thank you to Morton Golf for arranging our recent trip to Scotland. Wherever we went we felt welcomed and everyone was always so helpful to us. Overall too, the beauty of Scotland’s countryside was spectacular to all of us and this will not be easily forgotten.
We loved Kingsbarns for it natural beauty and seaside views, Carnoustie for its fame and difficulty and Crail Balcomie for its true links style and age. All the courses were in excellent shape and we found each of them to be challenging but very playable. The course staff and caddies were a big help to us at each course too and they only added to our enjoyment. The Rufflets Hotel could not have been a better choice for us and our particular lifestyles. Our rooms were delightful and the staff there were excellent too. If we ever return to St. Andrews we definitely would stay there. Being a little out of town was a nice benefit and added to our serenity. Alan our driver was wonderful to us and was so helpful throughout the whole week. He had great patience and did an admirable job of touring us around Scotland. It was also a nice touch having Donald McLeod meet us at the airport in Edinburgh. The Trip Information Summary you provided was very helpful and it became our itinerary and kept us on task. Thank you for the welcoming package and the History of Golf book. Morton Golf Holidays overall service was excellent. It was very thoughtful to set up the availability of carts at each course. We have already referred you to a friend who is in the early stages of planning a trip next year to Scotland.
Jim McGee, North Carolina, USA – September 2017
The University of Texas Tartan Tour II was the much anticipated follow up to the original Tartan Tour of 2012. It provided a fantastic opportunity to spend some extended time with great friends and play some of Scotland’s (the world’s ) greatest golf courses. With the exception of the weather – which was typically Scottish – we had the most amazing time. The organisational machine and expertise behind our great trip was Peter Craigon and his wife Fiona – co proprietors of Morton Golf Holidays. And their right hand man was our amazing bus driver, Eugene. No praise is high enough for the big lad.
From Gleneagles to the Old Course to Kingsbarns to Turnberry to Troon to Prestwick to Machrihanish. Even the wee Scottish gems at Dunning and Dunaverty. An outstanding trip of unbelievable memories. And a wee plug for the growing set up at Machrihanish – a super hotel, fabulous golf courses and the loveliest people. Five stars. Well worth the trip.
Thank you Peter, Fiona, Eugene for everything

The UT Tartan Tour II Party – September 2107
I just returned from a 7 day golf trip to Scotland arranged by the fine folks at Morton Golf Holidays. Working with Peter and his crew was as simple as giving them our travel dates, the courses we wanted to play and the number of players and they took care of it all. Within a week we had a list of hotels, guaranteed tee times, transportation and pricing. From airport transfer upon arrival to drop off for departure, the trip went off without any problems or complications. Thank you Peter and Morton Golf for a most memorable and enjoyable trip.
Jim Barocas – 12 Golfers – Aug 2017
Dear Peter, Fiona, Donald and Staff,
On behalf of the Carolinas Golf Association, thank you for the superb service that your firm provided our group of 48 traveling golfers on our recent trip ro Scotland! From the earliest planning stages through completion of the trip, Morton Golf Holidays was there to make every aspect of the week more enjoyable. I especially want to commend the drivers and MGH liaisons. Their knowledgeable and courteous service for our large entourage was refreshing!
You will be pleased to learn that our post-trip survey of those making the trip was unanimously complimentary of Morton’s services. We will definitely employ your professional services for our next visit to England, Scotland or Ireland.
My best wished for your continued success!

President, Carolinas Golf Association
One of the guys on our trip said, “It surpassed my expectations, and my expectations were high.” Simply put, every person on our trip said this was one of the best vacations they’d ever had. I head things like, “Trip of a lifetime,” and “We’ll be talking about this trip for years to come.”
West Valentine, USA – August 2017
“Dear Peter & Team
Thank you very much for again making our trip to Scotland special. This is the 2nd time you have organized a trip to Scotland for us. We have very much enjoyed the whole trip and your course selection was fantastic. Will definitely come back to Scotland and will recommend you to anyone looking for a special golf trip in Scotland!
Thanks a lot and best regards from Switzerland”
Jacqueline Zimmermann, Switzerland – August 2017
“I have now used Morton for four golf tours in both Scotland and Ireland. On each occasion, the trips were executed with precision and passion. I am now a seasoned repeat customer and would recommend Peter and his company highly!”
Kurt Malzer USA – August 2017
I am a do it yourself individual. I booked a 12 golfer trip to Scotland, a year in advance, for July 1997, to celebrate my 40th birthday. Returning from that trip, my wife picked me up at the airport, 8 1/2 months pregnant with our first son, he was born at the end of July. That son, returned with me on this trip, July 2017 to celebrate my 60th birthday, along with 14 other friends.
I picked out all the courses, and the order of play and was going to do it all on my own again, when Allan McAllister Ferguson, author of “Golf In Scotland”, a book about doing it all on your own, told me I should call Peter at Morton Golf and allow him a shot at handling the entire trip. Ferguson’s book really has wonderful advice for someone on their own or maybe just a foursome, but when you get to 8 or more golfers, you really need the help of someone who knows what they are doing. This was wonderful advice that I am so glad I accepted.
Morton Golf, on so many occasions went above and beyond what they had promised. All our B&B accommodations were wonderful. We had a 37 passenger bus and Eugene, our driver, was attentive to ALL our needs, making sure the coolers all had beer, water, tea, and snacks. Eugene would proactively reach our to me, recognizing our late tee times on occasion, and book dinner reservations for us at local restaurants.
Morton Golf also provided a WIFI hotspot on the bus at no additional charge to us. Two of us on this trip, were returnees from the 1997 trip, the other 14, this was their first trip to Scotland to play golf. All of them, have told me that Morton Golf made this trip very special for them. I truly hope to return to Scotland, and with no hesitation will have Morton Golf handle our trip!
Bob Pfeifer, USA – July 2017
Dear Peter, Fiona and Donald
We didn’t think our expectations could be surpassed regarding our golf vacation to Scotland, but Morton Golf Holidays managed to do just that. From our accommodations to the fantastic array of courses they booked for us, we were delighted with every aspect of their management. They even provided great golfing weather throughout!
Ben Leary, USA – July 2017
Dear Peter, Fiona and Donald
1st Class operation. Morton Golf is Awesome with Capital “A”. Organized, Informative, Sensitive to our needs, Good listeners. Perfect. We had a great time on our golf trip. We highly recommend them and we will use their service again.
Thank you. Homer Sedighi, USA – July 2017
Thanks for arranging our recent trip to Scotland. The courses were all magnificent and we enjoyed the golf experience beyond measure. Eugene our driver was absolutely terrific and helped to make for a memorable trip. Morton Golf receives a hearty thumbs up and I would love to arrange a golf and distillery trip in the near future. You were great and thanks for everything.
Alan Greene, New York, USA – July 2017
Hi Peter, Fiona and Donald
Following our recent golfing trip to Gleneagles and St. Andrews we would like to comment on the organisation and arrangements carried out by Morton Golf, before, during and after our holiday. The trip was to celebrate a special birthday and lived up to all our hopes and expectations.
It was especially pleasing to see both Peter and Donald at the golf courses and hotels to meet and greet us, which was a special touch and most appreciated.
The hotels and the golf courses were superb.
We would certainly recommend Morton Golf to friends to arrange any golfing holidays.
All in all, a fantastic week.
Thanks once again to Peter, Fiona and Donald for making it a memorable week.
Angie and Dave Barnes – England – July 2107
This was my fourth trip to Scotland and my third using Morton Golf. I presented Peter with a very challenging itinerary; almost three weeks, fifteen links courses, five hotel changes, and ferry crossings. Peter and his team took on each of my requests with vigour and expertise. Let it suffice to say that all came together seamlessly. Great job Morton Golf!
Richard Faubion, USA – June 2017
Morton Golf provided excellent knowledge and service for our week long five course trip to St. Andrews and vicinity. Great tee times, lodging, and driver service.
We would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

First of all thanks to both of you for a great trip. John and I really enjoyed ourselves and you guys did an outstanding job. I will not hesitate to highly recommend you to anyone travelling to Scotland for golf or any other reason. You have an extremely great asset in Sarah your driver. I can’t say enough about how well she treated us.
Peter Kenny, USA – June 2017
Dear Peter and Fiona
Our whole Scottish golf holiday was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by all four of us. We thank you sincerely for all your efficient and cost-effective arrangements to make this possible.
Furthermore, we also specifically want to state that all your friendliness and local knowledge certainly added value to the trip. I would certainly like to play more golf in Scotland, but am unsure when that may take place. However, be assured that I will ask Morton Golf to again make the arrangements if it happens, and I have no hesitation to recommend your services to friends and fellow golfers … such as Gerhard Swiegers, one of your next clients!
Edwin Hertzog (Dr), South Africa – June 2017
Our Golf trip was unforgettable. We truly enjoyed every aspect of the journey and the Golf courses we played were absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend Morton Golf to anyone that wants to venture into Scotland for some great Golf experience.
Fred Wright – Ecuador – May 2017
Want to thank you for the wonderful trip that Morton Golf Holidays arranged. The service you provided was exceptional, the places chosen for accommodations were first rate, and the castle & whiskey tours were almost as much fun as the great golf courses we played. Our driver Jim was very professional, always punctual, and a delight to be around. What a great trip it was.
Gary Madison -USA – June 2017
Hello Donald, Peter, & Fiona,.
Eric and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday to Scotland and wish to thank you for helping to make it all possible.
Every aspect of the trip was topnotch and please pass along our special thanks to Sarah and Fergus for their help as well.
The golf was fabulous and the tours helped make for a wonderful experience. We could not have worked with a better travel group and we will recommend Morton Golf to our friends.
Enjoy your Summer!

Now that I am back in Calgary and have time to reflect on my golf trip to Scotland, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you and your company for helping provide an exceptional golf experience at 5 outstanding courses in the St. Andrews area of Scotland. Your attention to detail was evident, when you asked your driver Jim to pick me up early at Dalmahoy Hotel when Jim’s flight was delayed in Dublin, Jim’s birthday cake, meeting us on the sacred ground at the first tee of The Old Course, and several other items – all adding greatly to our trip. It is always a special time when I have a chance to play golf with my brother Jim as well as my nephews Michael and Steven, but to do at the Old Course, Jubilee, Carnoustie, Kingsbarns (only got a hole in one !)and Gleneagles was very, very special. Jim, the driver you provided for our days in Scotland, was very courteous, informative, accommodating and professional and he allowed us to enjoy the golf and the whole experience in a worry free environment. Peter, thank you for the book entitled “The Scotsman History of Golf “. I have enjoyed reading a few of the articles in the book and look forward to reading others. It was interesting to learn on Page 120, that Tom Watson, Lee Trevino and other notable golfers played in a pro-am at Dalmahoy in 1975. This golfing trip to Scotland (which I have thought about for over 50 years) was something I will never forget. I would like to thank you and your company for helping make the trip, remarkable and memorable. I would not hesitate to recommend your company to golfers I know, wanting to experience a UK golf holiday. Continued success with your company.

The logistics and the planning of our recent trip to Scotland was nearly perfect and Morton Golf was just a phone call, text or email away should we have any questions or issues. My favourite golf course was the Old Course because it is the Old Course. Rufflets Hotel was a 1o; the room, the view, the location, the grounds, the staff, the food and the lounging areas! We love Fergus who did our walking tours – he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He was everything one could ask for. We hope to come back to Scotland next year and also we’d be happy to refer your services to our friends, family and work colleagues. Joe & Diane Cerino, Ohio, USA – May 2017
Many thanks again for an over the top experience! Your hospitality throughout was unprecedented– from meeting our group in Edinburgh upon arrival.. to seeing you again later in the week on the 1st tee at the Old Course… every part of the trip (courses, hotels, transportation, our last minute requests/changes) flowed flawlessly & above and beyond our expectations. To top off all of the amazing courses, we enjoyed navigating the countryside with our driver, Gus, who had great knowledge of the various towns in Scotland and always had the van ready to go, a major plus/relief during a jam packed trip.
Thanks again for all of the personal touches, we look forward to our return & utilizing your services in the very near future. Best, Michael Dix KY, USA – April 2017
Peter, Fiona and Donald
Thank you for arranging our recent trip to Scotland. We loved the scenery, people and history. Golfing was incredible and we really, really enjoyed the skeet shooting as well. We loved all three golfing experiences as they were quite different. Trump was spectacular and Carnoustie was such a unique, historic experience, but in the end we probably would say our day at Castle Stuart (a beautiful sunny day in such gorgeous surrounds including the water lapping up close around some of the greens) was our favourite. Our accommodations were all superb. A nice array of the elegant (Trump) and the sublime (St. Andrews). Gave us a great feel for things. The self-drive car was great and had its own GPS built in….a must for foreigners. We were glad to have the flexibility of our own vehicle and came through unscathed and had a blast. The whisky tour was so very interesting and we sure could appreciate the art and science of this business so much better. Incidentally, the tour guide wanted to be remembered to you! The St Andrews walking tour was outstanding! Fergus our guide was superb, such a lovely personality for this and knowledgeable. Seeing the history and University and things was great….Fergus was a champ. You folks have been fantastic to work with and we really appreciate the way you answer your phone directly, personalize, and handle things, monitoring us all along the way. We would come back in an instant if we could! Thinking we might make it a boys outing there in future with a bigger group. We would absolutely refer your service to your friends, family and work colleagues. Until the next time ……….
Don and Brett Simmonds, Ontario, Canada – October 2016
Hi Peter and Fiona…again thanks for all your help on our recent golf trip to Scotland. To say anything less than we had a total blast would be an understatement. The overall service we received from Morton was exceptional to say the least. It was especially impressive to meet Peter at the airport. Quite a show of service. We hadn’t expected that. I would rank Morton at the top and highly recommend it to any of my colleagues and friends visiting the UK or Ireland. Our favourite golf course is hard to describe but my preference would be Royal Aberdeen followed by North Berwick. RA has quite a golf history and is a challenging course. We also had one of the best caddies, Scott Melville, who was great. NB is a different course but challenging in every respect and the folks running the show there couldn’t have been more receptive to guests. They were wonderful. North Berwick is also one of the finest little towns I’ve been in the UK. The hotels were awesome. It’s hard to rate them as they were all great but I would put Greywalls a notch above Marcliffe and Old Course Hotel. Greywalls is quite the place and the people were fantastic. Our transport was fine. I had no issues with driving a shift as I have had nothing but shift cars/trucks here in the states. It was quite comfortable. Your trip info summary was excellent. The restaurant recommendations were outstanding (How can you not like Chez Rouz and I would rate Osteria not far behind it..and of course Marcliffe is in a class of it’s own. The folks are great. We will look to be back in Scotland next Fall..and if I can get my group together it is more than likely we will be doing a Spring trip (most likely Inverness area) with the guys. Again great job, all the gals on the trip were very happy and quite impressed with both of you. YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES. Thanks.
Jack Isles – USA – September 2016
Dear Peter & Fiona,
The father/son self-drive golf trip in Scotland which you planned a few years back seemed like an experience that couldn’t be topped, but you did it! The chauffeured couples trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland we recently returned from was as good, if not even better! You got great tee times on the best links courses all over the countries for my buddy and I while the girls were busy site seeing and shopping to their hearts content. The accommodations were very nice and strategically located so we could enjoy evenings filled with Irish food and music. Our driver, Jim, was terrific and very knowledgeable in the history and geography. We experience many things that we would have otherwise missed. We got a lot of “bang for our buck” and when I get the itch again, Morton Golf Holidays will be my only contact!
Dave Hanson – USA – August 2016
We are just now recovering from our amazing holiday in Ireland. Our group of 8 x golfers all had a great time. The weather was fantastic, even the locals and caddies couldn’t believe our luck. The courses were 1st class and the scenery was spectacular. Royal Portrush was the favourite and we really enjoyed Waterville. Accommodation was also 1st class, Brooks Hotel was central to all, our favourite was the Slieve Donard Hotel which what an amazing place ! They all had their unique features. We got to know the locals and found them so friendly and helpful. We have recommended Morton Golf Holidays to our friends and will do again, overall a 10 out of 10.
Sally and Iain Marshall, California, USA – August 2016
Peter and Fiona took our wish list for our buddies golf trip and made it a reality. We were always “expected” as we arrived at our hotels and courses…not a hitch from our first pick-up at the airport, until we were dropped off for the trip home. All we had to worry about was golf on incredible Open courses and where to drink and eat after! We will use Morton again, and hope to begin planning a return trip soon.

USA – The “epic golf adventure” – a two month trip
When I started thinking about a long, solo trip to Scotland, my first instinct was to reach out to Morton Golf Holidays. I had used them to book golf trips to Scotland before, but what I was contemplating was so much more than the standard 10 day “hit as many big name courses as you can trip” that most tour operators steer you towards (not that these aren’t great trips). I approached Peter about what came to be known as the “epic golf adventure” – a two month trip through the off-the-beaten-path parts of Scotland to explore the courses that most golfers will never see. Peter’s first thought was to schedule open competitions to save money and to ensure that my goal of playing as may rounds with local gofers was met, so we looked at some of the most prominent 1-day competitions and booked several in different locations, along with a few rounds at courses I had really wanted to play along the way such as Cruden Bay and Royal Aberdeen. I had indicated that I didn’t want to be traveling long distances every day, so Peter suggested setting up lodging in 6 different cities for 6 to 10 days apiece, not only for the golfing convenience, but to get to know the places I would be staying, get to know the people in those areas and take away any sense of being rushed during the trip. By this time, Donald McLeod had joined in the planning stage and we finalized the details of the trip and all I had to do was contain my excitement until the date of my departure.
Once I arrived in Scotland, I was met at the airport by Donald who was waiting with my rental car and an invitation to lunch in Pitlochry. Donald and I had a great lunch where we talked about my expectations during the trip. I had told them that I wanted the trip to be very flexible (other than the open competitions) and I wanted to get up in the morning and have the freedom to do whatever I wanted that day. Knowing that, Donald and I exchanged cell phone numbers and I went on my way.
Throughout the weeks of my trip, I would call or text Donald or Peter for some information, or they would contact me with an opportunity that they thought I might be interested in, but the planning of the trip had been so well executed that I never had any problems doing any of the things I had hoped to do. At every stop the accommodations were unbelievable and all of the courses both Peter and Donald had recommended were excellent. The only hiccup on my end was a tweaked back and a quick text to Donald allowed me to deal with that and go back to my adventure. As I closed out the adventure, I had the opportunity to play a round with Peter and Donald and it’s obvious that golf is not only their business, but also their passion.
This is now my third trip planned by Morton Golf Holidays and each of them have been fantastic! From the luxury trip I first took with them, to the budget follow-up trip, and finally to this epic adventure Morton Golf Holidays has provided the absolute best golfing experience. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a golf experience at any level of luxury or price point contact them and let Morton Golf Holidays put together your epic golf adventure!
Chris Oldham, USA – JUNE/JULY/AUGUST 2016
“Dear Peter and Fiona, Just returned home from our fantastic golf trip to Scotland. We all had a very good time and enjoyed playing tremendous golf courses in the area of St. Andrews, Gleneagles and East Lothian. I would like to thank you all for arranging such memorable days for us. Happy to recommend you to my friends and other people I know.”
Jacqueline Zimmermann, Switzerland – August 2016
“I have used Morton Golf for three trips to golf in Scotland and would highly recommend them as their service is timely, responsive and thorough, especially commendable is their choice of persons for accommodations and transport services. I will definitely use them for Scotland golf or any other location they provide services.”
Alan Brickley, USA – August 2016
Morton Golf certainly exceeded our expectations. From the planning, through to the farewell at the airport, we were well informed and dealt with the friendliest of people. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week playing beautiful courses in less than beautiful weather but loving every minute of it. Special thanks to Sarah for keeping us well-entertained during the drives, and to Peter for recommending Kingsbarns which was an amazing experience and an absolute must for anyone heading over there. See you guys soon!
Rod van de Werken, South Africa – August 2016
“Morton Golf Holidays certainly made a life long dream come true at the Home Of Golf, St Andrews.
From the first interaction with Morton Golf Holidays it was clear that we were dealing with seasoned golf tour experts that are just to happy to make your trip a memorable one. We specifically dealt with Donald from Morton Golf Holidays who was always prompt, friendly and very helpful in arranging our golf tour. The accommodation and activities arranged by them was exceptional. All their service providers applied the same work ethic as they did. We were treated at all the courses like golf royalty. Donald’s experience in arranging the tee off times and other tours also facilitated that we had the best experience possible.
The use of their services is highly recommended and will ensure you have a truly memorable visit to Scotland!
Reinart du Plessis, South Africa – July 2016″
SMASHING THE BUCKET LIST!
For our fortieth wedding anniversary we figured we’d better make a dent on that bucket list…before it’s too late. To tee off of the famous links of the Old Course and stand in the footsteps of golf’s greats, in one of the world’s oldest venues, was something we always wanted to do. For several years Morton Golf reminded me to “sign up” a year in advance to make sure we had that desired tee time in hand. Every year I’d smile at their mail until… it all happened.
There was Donald with a welcoming smile and The Open at Royal Troon began. That wonderful event was only the warm up, as for us personally, the best was yet to come.
Morton Golf, took us and brought us and showed us the best of times. On the day of that insanely awaited tee off time Morton’s Donald stood there with a grin on his face to see if we’d whiff that first drive. We didn’t! Our balls sang an improvised hymn of their own.
If you want to play golf in Scotland and/or visit some of their most interesting sites, this is the group to go with. Our drivers David and Sarah were fun and engaging. Will never forget them! In my view, Morton Golf is your best insurance for a wonderful time.
Steve and Beverly Menke Clarksville, Maryland, USA – July 2016
Your organization for our golf holiday was simply super: the hotel was nice and comfortable, our driver Sara was lovely and always on time.
And what about golf? A great experience for all of us!!!!
We loved the three golf courses and it was nice to meet Donald at Gleaneagles.
You made our golf experience in Scotland unforgettable (also the sun contributed!!!!!) so we are looking forward to go back to play and discover other golf courses with Morton Golf.
Thank you and best regards
Maria, Guido and Filippo Lagario – July 2016
Peter, Thank you for arranging our latest trip to Scotland – we have used Morton Golf Holidays on a number of occasions over the last few years. Scotland has a unique landscape and atmosphere and this time we really enjoyed playing Turnberry Ailsa as the new design is wonderful the greens perfect and the course has lots of signature holes and a great clubhouse. Add to this our days at the Open Championship and this made for a wonderful trip to Scotland. This was one of the best Opens of the last two decades. We had excellent service from our driver James who was a fabulous lad, always smiling and keen to do his best to meet our needs. We will hope to come back to Scotland in the next couple of years. I am always happy to tell friends and colleagues they should use Morton Golf Holidays if they wish to go to Scotland.
Paolo Pantaleo, Italy – July 2016
We have used Morton Golf for 5 golf tours to Scotland over the last 10 years. Their advice as to the composition of the tours and their service during our stays has been exceptional. Peter and Fiona go out of their way to ensure that the trip exceeds all expectations. Our accommodation has been clean, comfortable and well situated and our golf bookings always spot on. I have no hesitation in recommending Morton Golf for your trip to Scotland, in fact, I would say that you are doing yourself a disservice by using another tour operator. Thanks to Peter and Fiona for everything. We look forward to seeing you again in 2018!
Kevin Homann, SA – June 2016
Used Morton Golf for an 8 night/7 golf rounds trip to St. Andrews and Troon/Turnberry in mid-June 2016. Peter was very knowledgeable and helpful in putting together a trouble-free adventure. The lodging was clean and comfortable and the golf was fantastic. We played the St. Andres Old Course and Jubilee Course, Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, Prestwick, Turnbery and Western Gailes. Peter and his staff took care of all the details. I would highly recommend Morton Golf if you are planning a trip to Scotland.
Todd Muchnick, USA – June 2016
“Morton Golf Holiday made the best golf trip of my life, which I was able to enjoy with my dad, brother, and best bud, stress-free. They booked our rounds (including the Old Course through the ballot), and arranged for our transportation (with two fun drivers) and our hotel accommodations.
Everything was first-class, and we will certainly be returning to Scotland in the future with Morton Golf!”
Eddie Taylor, USA – May 2016
A huge thank you for nine wonderful rounds of golf at St. Andrews and Prestwick, your choice of courses and hotels was exemplary.
We look forward to visiting again and will, without doubt, use Morton Golf Holidays.
Mike Norton South Africa. – May 2016
Although the primary focus of Morton Golf is to facilitate memorable golfing experiences, Peter and Fiona are prepared to do much more than that. For over twenty years, I have availed myself of the services of Morton Golf. Initially, I went to Scotland just to play golf. Gradually it occurred to me that Scotland was more than golf courses. It was mountains and valleys; lochs and trout streams; museums and distilleries; Edinburgh and small coastal fishing villages; the Old Course, known to all American golfers and Dunning Golf Club, known to few American golfers. If one wishes a once in a lifetime golfing experience, Peter and Fiona can arrange that. If one wishes to see what is in Scotland between and among golf courses, Peter and Fiona can also arrange for one to experience that as well. For Peter and Fiona Craigon, their relationship with their clients is personal. It is that commitment that makes a Morton Golf holiday memorable. I never tire of returning.

Morton Golf Holiday made booking our trip to Scotland a breeze! They were recommended through golfwrx.com and I’m happy that I reached out to them. They were affordable, helpful, answered all of our questions, and were very responsive.
They took care of everything! I would highly recommend using them if you are planning a trip to Scotland.
Adam Hallenbeck, USA – May 2016
On our recent golf trip to St Andrews everything was great. The whole trip was well organized by Peter Craigon and his team from Morton Golf. Tee times, hotel, transportation. No complaints. The 4 who played Kingsbarns thought it was the best. The ocean views and the course condition was great. I would say Carnoustie was voted # 2 by the group. The Kings Course at Gleneagles was a beautiful course but was interrupted by the rain and cold and the Old Course was a good experience for the 6 players who had not played it. Crail which had great vistas and I would recommend it for those who would stay in St. Andrews and a good filler for a 6th Course. The accommodations in the Hotel du Vin in St Andrews were fine. The rooms, food and bar were excellent and it was a great to be only 200 yards from the 18th green on the Old Course.. The transportation and drivers( Sarah and Jim ) could not have been better. The trip data was very good and clear in all aspects of our trip. Morton Golf’s service was excellent. I will definitely recommend Morton Golf Holidays to all who plan a golf trip to Scotland.
Mike Higgins, USA – May 2016
” This was my second trip with Morton Golf Holiday. The first trip as great this was outstanding.
Every detail was taken into account and the process was clock work. The team was helpful and
extremely courteous and bent over backwards to meet our time table and needs. The venues were as we requested and expected. I would highly recommend Peter and team for your next Golfing trip.”
Fernando Valdez – North America – May 2016
We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our trip to St Andrews last week – the weather was great which helped. The minibus service was excellent – friendly and always on time. The accommodation was fine the food was good – we probably enjoyed Forgan’s most, but hotel restaurant and QBBQ were good too. Kingsbarns was outstanding and magnificent, the Castle Course was pretty tough for some but glorious views and Lundin Links probably 2nd favourite from all……..Jubilee greens were great. St Andrews is a great place to go and thanks to you and your team for an efficient organisation – we will be in touch next time the tour comes to Scotland.
Ian Simpkin, London, England – May 2016
Thank you for arranging the golf packages for my groups to come to Scotland in April this year. We liked the Scottish people and in St Andrews especially the golf where you can breathe in the atmosphere and then share golf course stories whilst enjoying a good single malt. We all loved the Castle Course which is challenging and has beautiful views and the Old Course which is always magical to play. Rusacks Hotel is very good and the in the best location – what can be better than having breakfast overlooking the 18th hole of the Old Course. Your drivers gave us a very good service and of course George is a genius ! The trip was so good next year we will come back of course !
Marcelo Molina, Argentina – April 2016
On behalf of Gerald, Terrance, Gavin and myself, we take this opportunity to thank you for a well planned trip and much appreciated hands on service.
From the minute of our arrival to the time of departure we were always made to feel welcome with excellent communication for the following day’s events.
Credit to our chauffeurs, Jimmy and Sarah as they were friendly, communicative and always willing to accommodate. Eventually we found the song, Sarah by Starship and we all serenaded Sarah on our drives to the various courses in tune to the mobile audio.
With regards the golfing experience, we all concur that it was extremely emotional and surreal being in the country where it all started. Naturally St Andrews was our highlight and thank goodness 3 of us did not shake hands with Hells bunker. However one of us did miss the widest fairway on the 1st.
All in all a superb golfing experience but mostly the friendliest and warmest people I’ve experienced in my travels worldwide.

We made it home safe and sound yesterday after a great trip to Scotland ! Thank you very much for your flexibility and customizing of our golf package to meet the needs of my golfers ! Most importantly guys were happy and enjoyed the trip very much.
It was perfectly organized, everything worked out and compliments to Jim your driver, who was flexible with our golf and dinner needs. Too bad the weather was not great when we played at The Old Course, but it was memorable, regardless the weather.
On Saturday at Kingsbarns we were first on the course and last off the course as we enjoyed that great links course so much 🙂 ! I look forward to working with you again in the future for any of my groups wishing to come to Scotland to play on the famous courses.
Rusty Koys, Managing Director, Pro Golf Slovakia – April 2016
In 2014, our group of golfers were looking to complete a golfers bucket list item and play golf in the St. Andrew’s region of Scotland. Our initial inquiries were responded by a number of operators, however the input from Morton golf along with input from friends who previously had worked with Peter and Fiona led us to select Morton Golf as the provider for our trip. Peter was very open with communications and plans and made the planning very easy. There was never a missing piece of information. Once we received our tee times for the Old Course, we quickly built the rest of our package around that date. Our accommodations, course selection and driver were all first class and made our trip a complete success.
To top it off, I’m sure Peter also arranged for the fantastic weather we received. Finally, prior to our round at the Old Course, Peter and Donald met us at the Old Course, shared a drink with us and discussed the highlights of our week. It was a truly personal touch that capped off the great service we received. I look forward to making arrangements on future trips to Scotland

Just wanted to thank you and Donald for a fantastic golf trip. From start to finish, the planning & execution were faultless.
The correspondence and communications prior to travel were comprehensive leaving no questions to ask. The assistance with airport arrivals was exceptional and again, flawless.
The organization of the golf was superb and with a man like George as our driver / tour guide, you can’t fail to be impressed. If everyone was as enthusiastic about their work as George is, life would be so much easier.
We had a royal time playing Kingsbarns, Carnoustie, St Andrews (new & old courses), Lundin Links & Crail. All of them were great and the weather also played its part with only one hole when it rained.
All in all, Morton Golf Holidays not only provide a world class service covering 100% of your golfing needs but they are also thoroughly nice people who you can have a lovely chat with. If I’m heading to the UK again to play golf, I will only deal with Peter, Donald & co.
Thanks again for a memorable trip.
Ray Massie from Qatar Aug 2015
Just want to thank you so much for planning our golf while we were in Scotland this past July-August. As you have four times before, Morton Golf did a superb job of making arrangements for our golf despite a number of last minute changes and additions. Most particularly, your extra efforts in securing a tee time for us at the Old Course through the ballot was very nice and greatly appreciated. It was truly special for my family to have the opportunity to play that course as a family…..a memory we will always have to cherish. Peter, I have already passed on your contact information to several more of my friends here in the States. I always recommend you to anyone I find who is considering a trip to Scotland. Great job and many thanks again.
Mike and Chris Jones, USA
Peter, Fiona and Donald,
Thank you for all of your efforts to make our recent trip to Scotland so memorable – it was an experience of a life time.
The iconic golf courses were amazing and the natural beauty of the Scottish countryside was enjoyed by all of us.
Over and above the almost spiritual visit to St Andrew, the luxury but welcoming atmosphere of Gleneagles and the beauty of Kingsbarns were some of the many highlights of our trip.
Morton Golf provided a friendly, efficient and professional service and we would definitely refer you to friends or colleagues looking for a great holiday experience in Scotland.
Johan and Trix van der Merwe, South Africa – Aug 2015
Peter and his team put together a fantastic golfing experience for us. The professional and hospitable service was only eclipsed by the weather and beauty of the golf courses suggested. Thanks for making this dream an unforgettable reality.
Roelof le Roux (August 2015)
Morton Golf Holidays are wonderful ambassadors for both Scotland and the game of Golf.
Peter and his team go out of their way to ensure that your experience is one that will leave a lasting impact on you and the group you travel with.
From the selection of hotels, golf courses and other recommendations, to the memories created walking golf’s most famous fairways(and rough), I can strongly recommend using Morton Golf and would like to sincerely Thank all involved for a truly remarkable and memorable experience.
Stephen Jadrijevich ,South Africa, Aug 2015
Tralee and Ballybunion were my favorite courses because of the truly difficult conditions we experienced. I thought the Island Club was a lot of fun. You really had to think your way around there. The accommodations were great, and the staffs were all very helpful. I think our favorite place to stay was the Grand Hotel in Malahide. It was the right mixture for us of class and location. Thanks for making it all possible, Peter!
Craig Ostovitz, USA
The trip was to Ireland fantastic – so much so it was tough coming back to work yesterday ! My favorite course personally was Tralee. Thinking of what I was expecting from a layout, visual aesthetic, and challenge standpoint it was the perfect Irish course for the trip. Ballybunion was a close second. Thank you again Peter. The service from Morton Golf is always top notch. This is our second trip and we will definitely be using Morton Golf for trips three, four, five and beyond. You can use us as a reference anytime. Thanks and best regards.
Doug Houser, USA
None of us had ever been to Scotland before and Morton Golf Holidays did a great job with everything. A must for everyone is having a driver and van and George was wonderful help for our group. The Old Course was awesome and with so much history and playing it proved to be the highlight of our trip.
David Hudiburg, USA – Aug 2015
“Thanks to the excellent service from Morton Golf Holidays, I had an amazing time in beautiful Scotland. The golf courses recommended by Morton Golf Holidays were superb “. Julian Pick, South Africa – July 2015
This was the third time that our group has used Morton Golf Holidays for our golf trips to both Scotland and Ireland. One of the things that is important to our group is allowing us to work with Morton Golf to tailor our golf trips to the courses and locations that we wish to visit. For our trip this year we had two tour buses and both were luxurious in nature, very comfortable, clean and more than met our needs. Eugene was an excellent driver and very accommodating. Over the last couple of years our golf group has shared our experiences with friends, family and fellow colleagues. By doing so we have increased our numbers from 6 to 12 participants on the trip. It is likely that our golf group will return in 2017. We have started to discuss possible returning to Ireland and look forward to another great experience.
Ron Gerbrandt, Canada 2015
If you are looking for a turnkey Scottish golfing adventure (or non-golfing for that matter) let Peter and Fiona at Morton Golf plan it for you. Their quick responses and their willingness to encompass our ideas and guide us rather than force a one-size-fits-all approach made our trip!
They are the best!
John Black, USA – July 2015
Peter .. it was a bucket list for me and met 100% of my expectations, the golf courses were amazing and full of challenges. The hotels were nice and clean, amazing trip and would definitely recommend you and Scotland to my friends.
Todd Riddle, USA – June 2015
I just wanted to say thank-you for another fantastic trip you put together for my dad, cousin, uncle and I. Four years ago our Scotland adventure was incredible. Having just returned from 10 days in Ireland, which Morton put together for us, you somehow managed to top it. Courses, hotels, and all the planning were first class. Over the years I have recommended Morton Golf Holidays many times and I will continue to do so as these are two trips we will never forget.
C Waite, Canada – June 2105
“ I’ve known and worked with Peter and his team since 2007. I’ve found them to be responsive and helpful in every aspect of our golf trips…planning, travel, execution and support! These guys know their business and take care of their clients!”
Jeff Applebaum , USA – June 2015
“Everything about the trip was first class, starting with the driver (Eugene) who met us at the airport. I can’t say enough about how easy this travel was – from the superb accommodations to the luxury bus to everything being prearranged with the courses. This was luxury travel at its easiest. Because of detailed attention paid to all arrangements it was unforgettable experience.”
John Schmeiser, Canada
We retained Morton Golf Holidays to plan all aspects of our golf trip to Scotland in June 2015. As we live in Canada we were relying heavily on their advice and execution and I can say that, without reservation, they exceeded our expectations. The entire trip was arranged via email exchange and the planning involved very little back and forth (perhaps 4 emails from my end). MGH secured all of our tee time requests (Old Course, New Course, Carnoustie, Kingbarns, Gleneagles etc). The accommodation was exactly as advertised(terrific) and our driver was professional, friendly and only too happy to accommodate our hectic schedule. I would not hesitate to use their services again and I have already recommended MGH to friends considering a trip to Scotland/Ireland.
Errol D. Soriano, Canada – June 2015
When the eight of us from the Olde Beau G&CC “gangsome” in N.C. began planning our Scotland Golf trip we had to decide if we wanted to book the reservations on our own or to work through a professional. After several calls Morton Golf was identified as the group to work with and “man were they correct”!
Peter, George and Donald put together a trip that none of us will ever forget; from housing to transportation to golf; it couldn’t have been a better experience! Their detailed work had everything in place before we arrived; all we had to do was get there. They were truly interested in us enjoying our trip and we never felt like “just another client”.
During our entire trip we never had to worry about when to leave, how to get to the course, where to go once we got there; the only thing we had to think about was our golf game. George, who became one of us, is a wealth of knowledge about his home region and is a great tour guide who gave us local knowledge about the culture and history of Saint Andrews and Scotland along the way. I have never encountered anyone who loves his job and people any more than George and it showed every day of our time with him.
We were so happy with our experience that we are now working with Morton Golf on our next trip; to Ireland.
David Rouse, May 2015
Peter Craigon of Morton Golf Holidays arranged a wonderful 4 day trip to the Old Course, Carnoustie and the Jubilee Course. The accommodations in St. Andrews were charming and within a short walk of everything. Peter answered all my questions for 2 months without fail and found us a hotel for our last night in St. Andrews on that day when almost everything was sold out. we entered the ballot and got on the Old Course for a second time so needed a place to stay for the last night. We thought that finding the tee time on the Old Course through the Aslar was a fluke and were not really sure it was real, but you came through. It was great. Peter took care of us during our stay, making sure we arrived safely when we were late, and escorted us to the practice area and our round on The Old Course. The whole trip was fantastic and if you like to play golf, St. Andrews is one of a kind.
Marty Gold, NY, USA, 5/26/15
Dear Peter and Fiona, Thanks for organizing our most recent golf trip to Scotland for us. It started as a once in a lifetime Father / Son trip to celebrate my sons graduation from University, but we had such a fantastic time that we are already wanting to do it again in 2 years’ time! Everything was first rate, from being personally greeted at the airport, and also on the first Tee of the first course we played, to the quality of the rental car through to the quality accommodations and well organized tee times. Can’t thank you enough. Regards, Roland and Thomas Haebler, Canada
“Morton Golf does for golf holidays what Steven Spielberg does for stories and Jamie Oliver does for food. They take simple ingredients and turn them into epic, distinctive creations. Thanks, Morton Golf, you made our simple golf vacation into an epic golfing experience.” Glenn Freedman, Houston, USA
We very much enjoyed our recent golf trip to the South West of Scotland and Ireland. Everything was well organised and we very much enjoyed the service provided by your driver Allan – he could not have done more and was friendly, helpful and informative. The hotels you arranged for us were all excellent with very good rooms, food and service. My favourite golf course on this trip was Turnberry and Royal Portrush was a close second. I hope to return in future and would not hesitate to use Morton Golf Holidays and I would recommend your company to friends. Thanks for all your help in making our trip so enjoyable.
Ray Legault, Canada
To Peter and Fiona, I want to thank you for many things – since we arrived in Edinburgh the service was excellent and our driver and friend George barbaro always treated us with a smile and was very disposed to help us with what we needed. Morton Golf Holidays is a very professional agency proving excellent service and I can say this through working for 30 years in tourism. The truth is that the combination of St Andrews and it’s great golf courses and Morton Golf Holidays service I recommended fully barbara. St Andrews is a unique place for the golfer and is a golfing mecca and if you go with Morton Golf Holidays then it makes things even better .I hope to return soon and thanks again.
Marcelo Molina, Argentina – April 2015
Please forgive me for this being so late but I would like to thank you very much for our golfing experience in Scotland. Your hospitality and professionalism made every moment enjoyable and worthwhile. I would definitely recommend Morton Golf to anyone who even thinks about going golfing in Scotland.
Evan Tsatsarolakis, South Africa.
Peter & Fiona
Overall we enjoyed our trip very much and we just loved the experience of playing the top links courses such as Turnberry, Royal Troon and Royal County Down. Turnberry Ailsa was my favourite course as it has a great layout, beautiful scenery and I played well and had a very good caddie too. All of the accommodations you booked for us were first class and the transportation was excellent – Allan was a great driver and did everything to make our trip most enjoyable. Morton Golf Holidays service was everything we could expect and of course this was the 3rd time we have used you to arrange our golf trip to Scotland and now to Ireland. We will be back in 2 years and I will continue to refer your company to others.
Doug Campbell, Canada – 2014
My two sons and I just returned from an unforgettable golf trip to Scotland, playing nine exceptional courses in six days, culminating in our final round on the Old Course. As a veteran of two golf trips to Scotland, I considered doing the booking myself. Fortunately, I thought better of it and enlisted Peter’s expert help. Peter lined up a wonderful selection of golf courses, arranging convenient tee times and superb caddies at each. Ground transportation was easy and convenient, and we would happily stay again at each hotel Peter booked for us. While planning the trip, Peter and I exchanged at least 50 emails, and I can attest that Peter considered every detail. At the end of our trip, Peter met with us personally to hear about our experience for the benefit of future customers. If not for time, money, and marital obligations, we would return tomorrow. And when we do return, our first contact will be Peter and Fiona at Morton Golf Holidays.
Eric Thompson, Missouri, USA
Dear Peter and Fiona
We have just returned from our trip to Scotland. First off, I should say that Morton Golf rates an A Plus in our opinion and would most certainly be the firm we would seek out for future Scotland excursions. Your final pre-trial summary was very clear and helpful, and I could see once we were settled into our trip that you had listened carefully in our several pre-trip phone conversations. Everything happened as they should – – the accommodations, tee times, buggies contingencies and caddie arrangements – – and everything was first class. As I am sure you know by now, Alistair Thomas our driver is a genuine jewel. I believe that, even years from now, none of us will think back on the trip without thinking also of Alistair. He won over every single one of us with his single-minded professionalism, his attention to the smallest of details, his boundless enthusiasm and his very good humour. We loved every one of the wonderful links courses you included in our itinerary. It goes without saying that the Old Course is special but Trump Links and Castle Stuart are truly magnificent, and I cannot imagine what I would change about them. That said, the classical, time-tested links courses of Royal Dornoch, Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay are unique and provide a wonderful and memorable golfing experience. I want to thank you again for all your help in making our trip successful. If we return to Scotland, and I hope someday that we do, you will hear from us again.
Mike Kelly, Florida, USA – 2014
What a pleasure it is for me to recommend Morton Holiday Golf for planning your golf venture to Scotland! My three golfing companions and I had an experience that far exceeded our already high expectations. Peter assisted me all along the way in planning our trip, and that included general inquiries from me starting well over a year in advance. Then upon our arrival we received fantastic service and personal attention from George Malcolm, a trusted staff member of Peter’s. Have the best experience possible…choose Morton Holiday Golf!
Thanks once again, Peter, for making our visit to the “home of golf” the best that it could possibly be!
M K Murray, Ohio, USA
Peter and Fiona, To say the trip exceeded my expectations is a total understatement. When Shannon came up with the idea of a golf trip to Scotland to celebrate my 50th birthday, I could not have imagined how truly perfect the week would be. To a man, each member of our crew has commented about how wonderful the trip was. The choice of courses and accommodations were exceptional and this was a great introduction to Caledonia especially with Iain Stothard hosting our wonderful ” whisky dinner “! What is great is that my friends have now made lifelong friends with each other, which has continued since we have returned. The shared experience of Scotland will pay dividends for years to come as we are already planning a mini-reunion next year, a little closer to home. Rest assured, we will be back to Scotland again in a couple of years, en masse, and maybe with another foursome as well. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and responsiveness, and for helping us have a trip of a lifetime. You run a terrific business. I am a fan for life and am more than happy to serve as a thoughtful reference endorsing Morton Golf Holidays.
Glenn Buggy, New York
In September 2013, my 77 year old dad and I came to Scotland for a trip of a lifetime. We played 11 courses in 11 days, including 5 former British Open sites. We simply could not have managed this trip to the home of golf without the help and kind consideration of Peter Craigon and his staff at Morton Golf. Their commitment and attention to detail were second to none. I cannot say enough about this excellent group of people. On behalf of my dad, I would like to formally thank Peter and Morton Golf for helping us create this wonderful collection of memories.
Michael Brooks, Victoria BC, Canada
What can I say about Morton Golf Holidays other than ‘outstanding’. As a PGA Professional I have organised many golf trips in my career, but working with Peter and Fiona is always fantastic. No stone is left unturned when it comes to personal service and the all important details which make such a trip so special. Our personal driver Alan was simply amazing and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Our favourite courses were Old Prestwick, and Royal Troon as the service and individual welcome was second to none. I am already looking forward to working with Morton Golf in the future and from the overwhelming feedback from my clients, it will not be long before we are all planning our next trip to Scotland. Many thanks
Jill Kinloch, PGA Professional, Switzerland
Our group of 8 avid 40+ year old golfers recently experienced a week of golfing heaven, organised by Morton’s Golf Holidays. We played some of the world’s greatest golf courses and stayed in some fantastic hotels. Whilst we have some outstanding golf courses out in South Africa, they do not come with the legacy and reputation of the top Scottish courses. Turnberry, Royal Troon, The Old Course, Kingsbarns, Gleneagles and Carnoustie all come with very high recommendations. The accommodation, transport and registration process was seamlessly dealt with and we had nothing other than our own golf swings to concentrate on, in spite of this our golf did not match up to the quality of the tour organisation. Thanks Peter, a fantastic trip and one to repeat in the future.
Andrew Marshall, South Africa
Rarely does a vacation meet or exceed one’s expectations – problems with travel arrangement – accommodations, weather, sickness etc. will often reduce the anticipated pleasures of a holiday. Not so with our golf “trip of a lifetime” arranged with Morton Golf Holidays! Peter and his staff arranged for us to play 8 rounds in 10 days – on 7 Scottish courses -5 of which are counted in the top 100 in the world! Our accommodations were super & our drivers excellent. Our scores “acceptable”. Even the weather co-operated – windy some days with small showers on 2 days – all in all, great golf weather. We are so appreciative of the manner in which our trip was planned & handled. My wife, our 2 chums & I have memories & photos to last a lifetime. (And we may be back – health permitting.
Duncan Atchison, Canada
I would like to personally thank you and all your associates for the absolutely well planned and executed holiday. It was a real pleasure to know that all the arrangements were in place and I was not disappointed by any aspect thereof. Our party thoroughly enjoyed our time in Scotland only made possible by the fact that you and your associates were professional and caring in every respect. Well done. The personal highlight of the tour was my par on the 18 th on the Old Course, witnessed and acknowledged by George and an enthusiastic crowd. I mention that I have already passed on your details to a colleague, Chris Browne, who will be in contact with you shortly. Please pass on my very best to George who was a great ambassador of your business.
Kevin Penrose, South Africa
We chose the Morton Golf Holidays group for our third trip to Scotland and we are certainly happy we did. For our first trip in 2005, we used an American travel agent who used an agent she contacted in Scotland. The trip was ok, but could have been better. We were still learning. For our second trip in 2010, we self catered and got all our own tee times. It was a lot of work and then, each time, we had to find the course, check in, figure out where the practice and changing facilities were, etc. We reasoned that it was worth the savings. Finally, we decided to check the rates for an assisted trip and, now that we have had the Morton experience, we won’t do anything else from now on. For very little more than it had cost us before for the rental car and self catering, we were pampered at every turn. Every schedule quirk we had in the pre-planning was quickly adjusted to by Peter Craigon and the inestimable George, our driver. George was never late and he was never wrong with his advice about everything from restaurants to castles to putting on Scottish greens. Some of the best parts of the trip were the transfers to and from places, while we chatted with George. I don’t know if Peter matched us with our other two players or just got lucky, but our partners were two delightful South Africans of comparable ability to us and we always ended our rounds with more rounds, this time of libations. They were great company. Our hotel was fine, located in the absolute heart of St. Andrews, exploring which more deeply was the goal of this trip, along with the golf, of course. We jointly (with Peter) planned out our golf itinerary, but did not finalize our tour days until arriving in Scotland, choosing from among several options. Even then, George took us on a brief surprise jaunt up to his favorite long view spot, a spectacular vantage from which to see everything from Edinburgh to Carnoustie. Simply put, this was our best trip yet, a true vacation because all the work was done for us by the Morton team. That’s what we wanted even if we didn’t know it in advance!
Stan Carpenter, USA
Peter – thank you for dropping by to meet with us. We enjoyed visiting with you. Garnett and I thoroughly enjoyed Scotland. We love St. Andrews and would like to return. Staying in one location was definitely a plus. We could unpack and feel more rested after golf and touring. The Aslar Guest House was centrally located and we could walk the entire city. Stan and Mary were delightful and made us feel very comfortable. We all agreed that we wish the weather had been cooler but we don’t have any control over that. It is hard to choose a favorite golf course. We were told we would not like Carnoustie but were pleasantly surprised. The Old Course has so much history…..can’t choose a favorite, sorry…you chose 3 great courses for us to play. ( As a side note, we enjoyed the caddies we had. Know that is just luck, but they definitely set the tone for playing). The transportation was very nice. George Malcolm was able to give us so much history and that was a plus when we were touring. We will definitely recommend Morton Golf Holidays to our friends. The package you prepared could not have been any better planned. We just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for making our trip so enjoyable.
Garnett and Rayma Causey, USA
Organising a golf trip to Scotland from Australia can be daunting, but with the friendly & efficient service from Peter @ Morton Golf Holidays & the flexibility of email, all ran smoothly & we enjoyed a truly memorable trip.
Mark & Pam Summers, Melbourne, Australia
Peter – Thanks. We all enjoyed our trip tremendously. It went very smoothly and the weather was great. For me what I liked best about Scotland was the golf courses and what I liked least was the rough!! I think all of us thought that Royal Dornoch was the best or equal best course but after that we all had our favourites. Our accommodation was great. Everything Morton Golf did for us was first class and I would certainly use you again and will have no hesitation in referring your services to other people. We all hope to return to Scotland in the very near future.
Gary Jones, Australia
I was fortunate enough to do a “bucket list” visit to Scotland this past summer – and play the great golf courses of Scotland. I was even more fortunate enough to be part of a group package that was arranged by Peter Craigon who owns Morton Golf Holidays. From transportation to accommodations to logistics to golf – it all went seamlessly and was executed with charm and energy. That’s the easy part – most operators provide that – the part that impressed me was the whole ambience of the experience and the “going the extra mile” that Morton’s crew seem to do – it seemed that Scotland was out on show and determined that no single golfing tourist would leave without having experienced Scotland and her people to the best possible extent. I left inspired and touched and planning a return!”
Kurt Malzer, USA
Peter – We had a great trip to Scotland! Thank you for all you did for us. George and John were great drivers and really added to the pleasure of the trip. Your organization for our group was wonderful. Thanks again – We have great memories of Scotland and Scotland golf.
Jerry Johnson, USA
I want to thank you for again putting together a wonderful trip for me and my group. I did not think that the trip you planned last year could be surpassed, but, as always in dealing with Morton Golf Holidays, I was pleasantly surprised. Like last year, the St. Andrews Golf Hotel was a wonderful place to stay and the staff there was warm and welcoming. The courses (Kingsbarns, St. Andrews Old & New and Crail) were perfect. I would note that Crail Balcomie was exceptional – I had heard it described as a “poor man’s Kingsbarns”, but it truly stood out as an exceptional course on its own, one that I would recommend for play to anyone traveling to the St. Andrews area. As for the Highlands leg of our trip, the courses and accommodations could not have been better. The Sunny Brae was an excellent small hotel which exceeded your description – the location close to the heart of Nairn made walking around the town an easy endeavor. Of course, Castle Stuart and Royal Dornoch were excellent courses with wonderful caddies and staff, but I would really like to thank you for booking our group at Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club. I believe that there is no more authentic Scottish golf experience than what we experienced at Fortrose – the gorse-lined fairways, the “fresh breeze” coming off the North Sea, the beautiful scenery and the welcoming members who insisted that there was always time for “one more beer!” I do not think we could have finished our trip in finer fashion. Once again, our drivers, George and Alan, were wonderful ambassadors for Morton Golf Holidays and for Scotland. They ensured that we were always on time to the courses, they found great restaurants for our dining and their stories left our group constantly laughing. As I’ve told you before, working with you is like planning a trip with an old friend. The personal attention that you (and Fiona – though I missed her this year) give your clients is the best thing about dealing with Morton Golf Holidays. I certainly intend to return to Scotland and I look forward to working with you again in the very near future to put together another outstanding trip!
Christopher J. Oldham, USA
Top of the day to you Peter! Enjoyed meeting you. The trip was excellent! The service was beyond my expectations. George and Allen were a total blast to have as drivers. I spent much more time with George due to the trip from Edinburgh. He and I hit it off very well. Great guy! St. Andrews Hotel service was beyond wonderful. The staff there were all excellent. The Golf was extremely special. The Old Course was a dream come true. I’m sorry I can’t pick a favorite. They each had features I loved. Loved the Northern Swing as well. Overall the Golf and accommodation’s were awesome!
Steve Gilreath, USA
Dear Peter, We are back home full of good memories. Even the weather, despite the horrible forecastings was eventually very pleasant. Let me first thank you once more for the great opportunity you gave me to visit Scotland and St Andrews and the time I was with Mr Campbell was simply superb mixing a perfect knowledge of golf history and friendly hospitality. George was a very good driver and we considered him a truly very pleasant team-mate. One word about the whisky dinner . Awesome is enough?
Ciao – Paolo Pantaleo, Italy
Hi Peter – what a fantastic trip. Overall it was a “bucket list” trip that more than met my expectations. Morton Golf Holidays did a wonderful job of providing me with an amazing experience of golf in Scotland. Playing 4 of the 5 Open Scottish courses was a treat. And North Berwick was a gem. Thank you to all your team and I hope we are back soon. I cannot imagine doing a trip like this without an organisation like yours doing everything. Your service was excellent.
Chris Tod, South Africa
Hi Peter – I must add that the tour exceeded all my expectations in every aspect!! We couldn’t have planned the timing and courses better as far as weather and sequence is concerned, from the tradition and atmosphere of St Andrews through to the quality and condition of Turnberry and Royal Troon which for me personally was the highlight!! I look forward to planning the next trip in the not too distant future…….so many courses and not enough time or loot!!!! Well done again to you guys for a magnificent tour and seamless arrangements.
Ian Lambie, South Africa
Hi Peter – We have just arrived back in sunny Stellenbosch. Thanks again for arranging what would be one of the most wonderful golf experiences of our lives. We will treasure it for the rest of our lives. Your arrangements was very professional and everything worked according to plan. The Old Course was very special and everything about it is better than expected. Missing my par putt on the 17 th leaving it a foot short, will haunt me forever. Gleneagles was the toughest course I ever played and it played havoc with my game. Finishing with 4 pars on the last 8 made up a little for what happened on the 1 st 10. George made a huge difference during our week. He is a great asset in your setup and we enjoyed his remarks and way of doing things a lot. I am seriously considering a return to Scotland and will make use of your services again. I will also let my club have your details and will recommend you to any party who ever want to play golf in Scotland.
Marius and Miko Barkhuysen, South Africa
