Testimonials

Overall, my wife and I enjoyed Scotland, its beauty, greenery, people, Golf and its history.  We loved the links course especially Prestwick, Royal Troon, Old Course, Carnoustie, New Course and Gleneagles, they were all simply too good to describe in words but a pleasure one will cherish to eternity. The Albany Hotel in St.Andrews had great hospitality and Home like feelings with sumptuous breakfasts.  We enjoyed the face to face discussions we had with you and Fiona at diner in Scotts in Troon. You and your staff were outstanding, helpful and all the information we got was accurate and beneficial.  We do like the personal touch that was evident in your services and makes days go by with lots of good memories and happy times.

Panmure Golf Club

Panmure Golf Club Panmure near Carnoustie has hosted many national and regional championships in its time. Perhaps less conspicuous than its neighbours, it is one of the true gems of the Angus coast.

The original Panmure Golf Club shared the links of Monifieth - nine holes originally laid out by Allan Robertson and Alexander Pirie in 1845 - but congestion on the course forced the Panmure men to move to their present location at Barry close to the championship links of Carnoustie on the Angus coast. Huge sand dunes and rolling links land were there in abundance.

The hand of Old Tom Morris from St Andrews was much involved in the first layout but over the years changes were made until James Braid travelled north from Walton Heath to create a much longer and stiffer test. It was here on the Barry links that Ben Hogan practised assiduously before his one and only appearance and victory in the Open Championship at Carnoustie in 1953.
