Golfing in the Kingdom of Fife - St Andrews Golf Tour 1

Enquire NowSt Andrews IS the most famous golfing destination in the world. Using St Andrews as a base for your golfing vacation will ensure that you enjoy one of the most wonderful experiences ever. St Andrews is home to the Old Course and golf has been played here for over 600 years. Fife has some of the world's best links golf courses and so many things to see and do - whether you are interested in the history of Scotland or looking at simply enjoying the atmosphere the Mecca of golf this area has it all.

Golfing in the Kingdom of Fife - St Andrews Golf Tour 1

Day 1

Arrive in Edinburgh Airport where you will be met by a company representative and escorted to your vehicle. Transfer to St Andrews to the ancient and historic old town. Check into the Old Course Hotel and relax at your leisure

Day 2

Play The New Course St Andrews - the course was designed by Old Tom Morris and was opened in 1894. A typical Scottish links golf course the New Course is said by many to be one of the best in the country.

Day 3

Play The Old Course - golf's Mecca. Clients tell us that their legs turn to jelly when they stand on the first tee of the Old Course for the first time. Once they have played on the most famous golf course in the world they always vow to return.

Day 4

Play Leven Golf Links The championship course at Leven was used once ag -  at the Millennium as one of the four final pre-qualifying courses when the  Open Championship is played at St Andrews. As well as boasting the 11th oldest golf club in the world, The Leven Golfing Society, the STANDARD LIFE ASSURANCE COMPANY'S AMATEUR CHAMPION MEDAL, gifted by the company in 1870 lays claim to the title of "The Oldest Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship In The World". A true sea-side course - the editor of Golf Monthly described the older part of the Leven Links as 'being one of the best stands of Bent and Fescues in Scotland'. Originally Leven was a 9 hole course, maintained by the players themselves and their families (a paid Keeper of the Green did not appear at Leven until 1876).

Day 5

Play Golf House Club at Elie. Golf has been played on Earlsferry Links, possibly as early as the 15 th century. To card a good score playing links golf, isn't so much about power but the ability to "craft your way around the course". Never is that more evident than around The Golf House Club - at just over 6200 yards it might not seem long but with no par 5's and only two par 3's, this is a real challenge. Add a stiff breeze off the Firth of Forth and any shortcomings in your game will be quickly exposed.

Day 6

Play Dukes Course St Andrews - With a spectacular setting above St Andrews  the championship Duke's gives magnificent panoramic views over the surrounding countryside to the sea.

Duke's is highly regarded as one of the finest heathland championship courses in the British Isles and a 'must play' course for any golfer.  Its style ranks alongside the great inland challenges which demand accuracy and inventive play as well as power golf.  And with five separate tee positions at every hole, Duke's has the flexibility and challenge to appeal to golfers at every level.

Day 7

Play St Andrews Bay - The Torrance Course, designed by the late Gene Sarazen and winning Ryder Cup Captain, Sam Torrance, is a par 72, 7037 yard course that sweeps its way around the hotel and down to the coastal edge.

Enquire NowIt has been designed using the principles of links golf with an infusion of new styles.  The natural contours of the land and the dramatic coastal setting are combined with a unique blend of Rye grass, innovative green-keeping skills and the expertise of winning Ryder Cup captain, Sam Torrance.
