Testimonials

We had a great time. The weather and people were very kind to us. George did a fantastic job looking after us and didn't miss a beat with any of our arrangements. The courses were all very enjoyable and it was nice to play the Old Course in somewhat traditional conditions.

We mightn't be back next year, but the year after looks very likely.

Regards
Peter Carlin Australia - 2009

Day 2

Play North Berwick - You will find a perfect blend of tradition, hospitality and a unique golfing challenge. The course is a true Links, starting in the town centre and stretching west along the shores of the Firth of Forth. You will be as impressed with stunning views over sandy beaches, rocky islands and the hills of Fife to the north, as you will with a course which features the best of traditional links design.

The club, the 13th oldest in the world, has a long and proud history, from staging many of the legendary challenge matches of the 19th Century to hosting major events, including Final Qualifying for the Open Championship, in the 21st. You can be sure your golf at North Berwick will be enjoyable and memorable.

Day 3

Play Dunbar Designed by Old Tom Morris around 1850, Dunbar East Links situated on the estuary of the Firth of Forth, is a breathtaking layout of Championship links course that stretches across 6404 yards of coastal terrain. All of the major Scottish Championships have been played here, The Scottish Amateur, Professional Championship and Scottish Boys' Championship. It has been used as an Open qualifier on several occasions in the past.

Day 4

Play Kilspindie Golf Club at Aberlady. The links course at Kilspindie is a very traditional Scottish golf course at the edge of the Firth of Forth. The course features wonderful views across the firth to Fife and the great thing about this golf course is that it is under 6000 yards so can be enjoyed by all levels of golfer. Kilspindie is host bi-annually to an alternative Ryder Cup - a match played by 12 Americans against 12 Europeans using pre 1930's hickories!

Day 5

Play Muirfield. Home to the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Muirfield is simply one of the very best golf courses in the world. Host to many Open Championships it is the only course to have hosted the Open (15 times, the most recent in 2002), the Amateur, the Mid Amateur, the Ryder Cup, the Walker Cup and the Curtis Cup. When playing Muirfield we always suggest that you take lunch in the clubhouse as some say it as memorable as the course itself.

Day 6

Play Craigielaw Inspired by the great links courses of Britain, particularly those on land which are less dominated by dunes, Craigielaw is equal to many of the finest examples of such courses some of which are conveniently located nearby in the East Lothian area.

Designed by Donald Steel and Co. the course opened in 2001 and in the short period since opening the course has been host to many national events, including the 2006 Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship and is to be host to the Qualifying for the 2007 British Seniors Open at Muirfield. With challenging greens cavernous bunkers and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, the courses of Gullane and out towards Edinburgh and Fife, Craigielaw Golf Club is an experience not to be missed.

Day 7

Play Gullane The eighteen holes of Gullane No.1 Course were established in 1884. The well maintained greens, links grasses, numerous bunkers and sea breezes make a unique challenge for the serious golfer.

The 3rd hole was recently voted one of the top 500 holes in the world by Golf Magazine (USA). The world famous view from the highest point of the Course on the 7th tee across the course and over to Edinburgh, Fife and way beyond is worth the green fee alone.
